Well…after much delay I’m finally back to make the official announcement about our new venture called Splurge! After 16 years of running the studio as primarily a one woman show it was time to shift directions a bit. Our new venture Splurge is a collaborative effort of myself and my longtime photographer friend Lisa Coots Schooley from Davis-Photography of Vinton.  We’ve worked together behind the scenes for almost 16 years and after a series unexpected, strange and somewhat goofy events we’ve decided to make the leap and collaborate under the same roof. In addition to continuing to bring you the same quality photography we’ve always provided we will now also have a boutique in the front portion of our new Boyson Rd location with all sorts of fun items to accessorize your outfits for your sessions.

We will be using the new location as the central point for all consultations, selections appointments and pickup of completed orders. Our Oakland Rd studio will still be available for natural light photography and urban sessions. Combining efforts will allow us to have additional staff available during all studio & boutique hours to answer questions and schedule appointments – no more answering machine – yay!

Many of you have been in on our little secret for a while and some common questions have popped up so I’ll just go ahead and answer a few right here Our photography offerings and pricing will remain basically the same. We will have some additional package and product offerings – especially as we head into fall. Additionally, our Children’s Program Members will continue to have all of the same benefits they currently enjoy. The last question that has been popping up a lot lately is whether or not the fall schedule is filling up and the answer is YES! If you are considering a fall family session it will be more important than ever to call early to secure your session time. All of the chatter about our new venture has caused the books to fill more quickly than past years.

As a little side note – I want to extend a big thank you to all of you who have been checking in to see how I’ve been feeling. A little while back I was dealing with some somewhat freaky nerve pain in my jaw which made the simple act of talking extremely painful. Making it through a full work day was pretty difficult for a while. Luckily the nerve seems to have “calmed down” on it’s own over the last couple of weeks and I’m feeling a bit more normal lately.  The next step was going to involve a lot of doctor’s visits and a lot of testing and it seems I have dodged the bullet on that one – at least for now
